Angular Symmetrical Components for Currents

Angular Symmetrical Components for Voltages (Line and Phase) are introduced in this blog. Now, It is applied to currents for simplification and extraction of sequence currents.

A. Star Effective Line Currents (SELC):

Quadratic Mean (RMS) of all Sequence Currents is referred as "Star Effective Line Current (SELC)". This Current is equal to the Quadratic Mean of all Line Currents. The power in unbalanced star connected system will be equal to the same delivered by balanced three phase system of "SEL Current".

B. Delta Effective Line Currents (DELC):

Effective magnitude of Positive and Negative Sequence currents is referred as "Delta Effective Line Current (DELC)". This current is equal to effective magnitude of Delta currents / Virtual Delta Currents.

C. Earth Tangent Angle for Currents (ETAC)
The Geometric angle (as shown in figure) between SELC and DELC represents the Zero sequence current which is related to Neutral current. So it is called as "Earth Tangent Angle for Currents (ETAC)". It is determined as Cosine Inverse of the ratio between DELC and SELC.

D. Tangent Angle of Unbalance for Currents (TAUC)
The Geometric angle (as ahown in figure) between Positive sequence Current and DELC (Not phase angle) is referred as "Tangent Angle of Unbalance for Current (TAUC)". It is determined as Tangent Inverse of Current Unbalance Factor which is the ratio between Negative Sequence and Positive Sequence. Negative Sequence in per unit is similar to the TAU in radians for smaller values. So the TAUC is represented as Angular form of Negative Sequence Current.
Conversion Table is given below:

UGC, AICTE and NCTE will be merged as HECI

Here is a brief note on the proposed merger of University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) into Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) — what it means, why it’s being done, and some of the key features & concerns. --- ✅ Why the merger is being considered Under the current system, UGC regulates non-technical higher education (general/university colleges), AICTE regulates technical and professional education (engineering, management, etc.), and NCTE oversees teacher education.  This fragmented regulatory structure is often criticized for overlapping jurisdictions, delays, redundant approvals, and bureaucratic complexity — especially for institutions offering multi-disciplinary courses. Merging them into a single body aims to simplify regulation and improve coherence.  The idea for HECI was formally proposed under the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), which en...

VIBSA - New Super Regulator for Higher Education excluding medical and Law.

Vikshit Bharat Shiksha Adheekshan Bill (VIBSA) The Vikshit Bharat Shiksha Adheekshan Bill (VIBSA) is not a formally enacted Act of Parliament as of now. The term is generally used in academic discussions, policy drafts, or conceptual proposals to describe a proposed education oversight and inspection framework aligned with the vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047” and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. In simple terms, VIBSA refers to an education inspection and supervision mechanism intended to improve quality, accountability, and outcomes across India’s education system. --- Meaning of the Term Vikshit Bharat – Developed India Shiksha – Education Adheekshan – Inspection / Supervision Bill – Proposed legislation 👉 VIBSA = A proposed legal framework for systematic inspection and quality assurance in education --- Purpose of the VIBSA (Proposed) The bill is envisioned to: 1. Ensure quality education in schools and higher education institutions 2. Monitor implementation of ...
